Lyuba Batembergska is a political scientist, a graduate of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.” She started her professional career as a political reporter. In the non-governmental sector, she has worked alongside local civil organizations, teachers, and municipalities to improve the quality of education for children from communities with structural poverty in Bulgaria. Her professional experience includes policy monitoring, development, and advocacy at both local and national levels, with a focus on access to quality education and educational desegregation.
She has collaborated with various Bulgarian and international organizations and schools in Bulgaria to develop educational resources and train teachers, community center workers, and others to teach 21st-century skills, including media literacy, critical thinking, interdisciplinary connections, and engaging parents in the school environment. One of her causes is advocacy for children’s participation in decision-making within schools and municipalities. She teaches applied civic education and believes in the potential for change in challenging causes and the power of every child.
In her current role at the Foundation, Lyuba draws on her extensive experience in education and civic engagement to support initiatives that promote community involvement and create sustainable opportunities for development.
