Marieta Gecheva is a distinguished graduate psychologist from Veliko Tarnovo University St. St. Cyril and Methodius, further complementing her academic background with non-formal training in Object Relations Theory under the tutelage of Dr. Albertho Hahn and guest lecturers from the esteemed Tavistock Institute of Human Relations.

Since her graduation in 2006 up until 2021, Marieta has dedicated herself ardently to the realm of non-governmental organizations. Her multifaceted involvement spans direct client engagement, administrative-organizational processes, and strategic initiatives. Her work is intrinsically tied to addressing some of society’s most vulnerable segments, particularly disadvantaged children. She has been continuously working on cases involving domestic violence, children who have endured traumatic events, support for children deprived of parental care, and assistance in domestic and international adoption processes.

Marieta’s impactful contributions extend to the preparation and continuous training of professional teams in specialized areas. She has also played a pivotal role in designing and developing tailored social service programs that adress the unique needs of specific target groups. Furthermore, her endeavors encompass the creation of comprehensive support systems for professionals working in the social sector.

Presently, Marieta has accumulated extensive experience in providing methodological support to social sector specialists. She has experience in the implementation of programs and initiatives that foster multidisciplinary and multisectoral approaches and her commitment is to establish professionals and institutions as a robust safety net for disadvantaged children and those who have experienced trauma.

In her current capacity, Marieta assumes a pivotal role as the head of the “Child Protection” program. Here, she leverages her rich expertise to catalyze systemic change and promote sustainability in the pursuit of safeguarding and enhancing the well-being of vulnerable children.
