Marieta Gecheva is a graduate psychologist from Veliko Tarnovo University St. St. Cyril and Methodius and has additional nonformal training in Object relations theory, lead by dr Albertho Hahn and guest lecturers form the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations. Since graduating from the university in 2006, until 2021 she works intensively in the sector of non-governmental organizations, both in direct work with clients and in administrative-organizational and strategic activities.The topics of her work face her with one of the most vulnerable groups in our society – disadvantaged children, through a number of cases to include cases of domestic violence, children who have experienced traumatic events; support for children deprived of parental care; support in cases of domestic and international adoption. The preparation of teams of professionals and their ongoing training on specific topics, design and development of programs for direct social services, tailored to the needs of the target groups, as well as developing systems for internal and external support for professionals in the social area, become one of the most important lines in her work.

Currently she has gained experience in providing methodological support for specialists in the social area, implementing programs and activities in developing multidisciplinary and multisectorial approaches and is determined to find ways in which professionals and institutions will be acting as a safety net for disadvantaged children and children, suffering trauma.
